Ganeshpatris – Natural Useful Herbs

In Ganesh Utsav 21 Ganeshpatris are offered to Lord Ganesha. These Ganeshpatris are also very important to cure health related problems. Plantation of these Ganeshpatris in premises will be most beneficial. Below is the table of medicinal uses:

Aapta (Bauhinia racemosa)

Bark, leaves, pods and seeds are medicinal. Cure cough, pitta, swellings and scars.

Aghada
Used for digestive disorders and also used for poisonous bites.

Arjun (Terminalia arjuna)

Used for joint pains, Vata/Pitta/Kapha related disease, heart diseases, wounds and septic conditions.


Agasti/Hadga (Sesbania grandiflora) – Used for fever, cough, head ache and cold.

Bel (Aegle marmelos)– An infusion of Bel leaves is an effective remedy for peptic ulcer. Fruits are used in the tre atment of diarrhoea and dysentery.
 

Bor (Zizyphus mauritiana)

Used for digestive disorders. Cough wounds and injuries, blood impurities.

Dalimb (Punica granatum)

Used for Dysentery, Kapha dosha

Devdar (Cedrus deodara)

Used for skin diseases, wounds/injuries, stomach ache

Dhotara

Leaves, seeds and roots all are very useful.Used for Joint pains, abdominal and skin diseases, eye disease, piles, acidity, kidney stone etc.

Dorali (Solanum indicum)

Used for cough, cold, asthma and stomach ache. Roots are used in Dasamularista.

Durva (Cynodon dactylon)

Have antimicrobial and antiviral properties, used to cure urinary tract infections, piles, cough, cramps, hypertension, dysentery and diabetes. Traditionally used for tootache and amibiasis.

Jai (Jasminum grandiflorum)

Flowers and roots are used in Ayurvedic and Unani medicines. Used for skin diseases, mouth related problems and also in digestion.

Kanher (nerium indicum)

Used for swellings, wounds and injuries, hair falls. Oil is used in poisonous bites.

Kevada (Pandanus odoratissimus)

Used to cure kapha, pitta, urinary retention, skin diseases, headache and fever.

Madhumalti (Hiptage benghalensis)

Leaves are useful in the treatment of Cough, Burning Sensation, Thirst, Inflamation, Skin diseases and leprosy.

 

Maka (Eclipta alba)

Useful to cure skin problems, dysentry, anaemia and liver cirrhosis. Oil is used for healthy hair.

Marva (Origanum marjorana)

Used for skin diseases, stomach ache

Nirgudi (Vitex negundo)

Used for Vaata related problems and also used in anti poisonous drugs

Pimpal (Ficus religiosa)

Leaves used in treatment of mumps. Bark is used for skin disease, mouth ulcers.

Rui (Calotropis gigantea)

It is called as a healing herb used in poisonous bites, wounds and injuries, curing skin diseases, leprosy, joint pains etc.

Shami (Prosopis cineraria)

It is used for respiratory problems, leprosy and dysentery.

Tulas

Used for respiratory diseases, skin diseases, puri fies air, water and surroundings. Extract of leaves cure cough and cold.

Vishnukrant (Evolvulus alsinoides)

Used for memory power, ulcers, diabetes
